Så där sitter vi i godan ro och avnjuter en middag nere vid strandkanten på hotellet. Vi har precis fått in vår Wagyubiff och provsmakat vinet när DEN HÄR kommer upp ur havet!!!

Och när hon lagt klart sina ägg och krupit till havs igen SÅ KOMMER EN TILL!
”Community service projects this morning before Liberty. These are some great cadets – deep clean of their compartments and heads (bedrooms and bathrooms) then right to work weeding, cleaning tarps and repainting the display guns outside of Ripley. And not a complaint to be Heard!”
Och efter detta var de helt klart ute och seglade men om det vet vi egentligen ingenting…
”Today was a beautiful day for kayaking down on the river! IEP cadets really had a fantastic time and the weather was beautiful. For lunch/chow they had what we in the US call MRE’s, also known as ”Meal Ready to Eat”. There were a lot of ”traffic” jams but the cadets got the hang of maneuvering the kayaks fairly quickly! ”
”Cadets eating MREs some are good some are ”interesting”.”
”Yet another great day! We took a trip to USCG Station New London, and the USCG Academy. Cadets learned about the USCG’s boats, weapons, rescue procedures, and about its elite school the USCGA. We had a fantastic meal in the USCGA’s Officers Club with the Admiral of USCG, it was an honor to meet him and for him to welcome us! Cadets then returned to Newport and had base liberty, going to places like the ”NEX” and the internet cafe. Overall cadets had a terrific time.”
”Today was a busy but fun day for our IEP cadets. We got to meet and greet Captain Monahan, who is from our USNSCC Board in Headquarters located in Washington DC. What an honor it was to meet our Executive Director. Other activities today included team building or ”Ice Breakers”, and a predestination on Australia given by our Australian cadets.”
”Sweden says thank you to the Executive Director, Captain Monahan.”
Som ni redan läst hade det svenska gänget lite bekymmer att ta sig till sin slutdestination som är här:
”Rhode Island is the smallest state in the UA and part of the New England Region in the North East. You will be 4 hours from New York City, 1.5 hours from Boston and minutes from the Atlantic Ocean.”
Alla skulle vara där senast 15.00 den 23/6 men vissa länder började droppa in redan sen kväll den 22/6. Kadetterna från USA var då redan på plats för att hjälpa till med förberedelserna, sedan kom South Africa, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand och till slut Sweden…ett helt dygn efter de först ankomna.
”Planes, trains and automobiles…it’s 0230 but at long last, Sweden has arrived, sleepy but safe and sound!
Michael L. Campbell, Comanding Officer över U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps International Exchange Program, har skapat en Facebookgrupp där vi som föräldrar har blivit inbjudna för att se vad våra kadetter har för sig ”over there”. De är otroligt duktiga på att lägga ut information och bilder och Anders och jag kommer att plocka ut en del och publicera här enligt Sofias önskemål.
Om texten står inom ”hartassar” så är det amerikanernas text rakt av.
…var ju ett litet kapitel för sig. Mejekawi heter restaurangen och ligger inne på Ku De Ta. Vi hade bokat en liten lätt 12-rätters meny som nog blev till 15 rätter med de extras som kom in lite då och då. Med tillhörande viner förstås 🙂
